All of the quilts I offer for sale are custom made by me, from start to finish. I use the finest quality cotton quilting fabric, batting, and thread. I construct the quilts with the highest quality workmanship, professional precision quilting, and hand stitched binding. What makes my quilts different from other handmade quilts that are for sale on the internet?
The average quilt is made from thin, inexpensive fabric from discount stores. The batting is cheap puffy polyester, the quilt is tied every several inches to hold the layers together, and the binding is sewn on by machine. These quilts are fast and economical to make, but they will not last. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
I use only the finest name brand, quilt shop quality cotton fabrics, and the highest quality Quilters Dream batting. I prewash all the fabrics, to prevent color run and shrinkage later. My piecing is very accurate, so all of the quilts are flat and square. I professionally machine quilt every quilt on my Statler Stitcher, with a coordinating design. All of my bindings are double layer, and hand stitched to the back of the quilt. These high quality quilts are machine washable and will last for many, many years.
Custom Quilts:
I make a limited number of custom quilts similar to those shown above. It takes a long time to collect the fabrics for a themed quilt like the cat quilt above, but if you have something in mind please contact me and I will see what I can do! Custom quilt prices start at $0.12/square inch, that includes everything. For example, a 50"x70" lap quilt would start at $420.
